Jack Birtles finds himself drawn to people pushing themselves in alternative directions, whether that be through writing, dance, music, activism or photography. He likes to incorporate this into his own work; he enjoys mixing new and old, and is quite drawn to older mediums and techniques but developed in a modern environment or vice versa, taking new techniques and adapting them to old practices.
Jack’s work is considered and intuitive; he invites the viewer into a world that is not necessarily familiar, yet enticing; an escape from the norm, and thought-provoking.
